• Hosting - Grants-Tracker is suited for hosting within the customer’s own infrastructure or at an external site depending on the customer’s preference.
• Integration issues - Users only need to authenticate once per session and ‘single sign on’ can be supported where Grants-Tracker is integrated with an enterprise directory service.

Security

• Security - Permissions to data and actions within Grants-Tracker can be defined for users or groups of users.
• Authentication - Grants-Tracker has its own authentication mechanism, or can be configured to work with directory services such as Active Directory. Different authentication mechanisms can be used for different classes of user (e.g. internal users via Active Directory, external users via username / password stored only in Grants-Tracker).
• Authorisation - In this way, Grants-Tracker allows for registration and maintenance of users not registered in the internal network. Anonymous users (guests) can be configured to have access to parts of the system as defined by security classes within the system.

Environment

• Acceptance and production environments - Grants-Tracker is a web application and its application architecture does not introduce any particular constraints on the physical infrastructure provided. Typically, customers would require a single production environment and an acceptance environment. Implementation project timelines can be managed more flexibly if a separate training environment is also available.
• Development and test environments - Development and system test environments are provided at ICS.
